Removal Day Storytelling & Reenactment
If you are a Baldwin County Native more than likely you have heard multiple stories about Bay Minette “stealing” the courthouse from Daphne, if you are not a native then this is the only story you need to hear – the true story of how Bay Minette became the county seat. Each October the courthouse square comes to life, and goes back in time to 1901, when Bay Minette became the seat of Baldwin County. The event includes a reenactment of those events, a storytelling, the great debate, dessert contest, period attire contest and more. Join us downtown in October as history is brought to life!
RIDEYELLOW for a Reason
RIDEYELLOW is an Infirmary Health charity bike ride. The ride begins at Halliday Park in Bay Minette, Alabama, with a 6-mile tribute ride. Individuals can choose to participate in only the tribute ride or continue by pedaling the 10, 20, 37 or 62 mile route at their leisure. Rest stops are available along the way and food, beverages and vendor booths are available when riders return to the park.
RIDEYELLOW was founded in 2007 by Ann White-Spunner and Mary Trufant to raise awareness of cancer and to draft grassroots support for their mission of inspiring and empowering people affected by cancer. Since its inception, RIDEYELLOW has donated more than $538,000 to various cancer charities!
