Over 70 students have participated in the North Baldwin Junior Ambassador youth leadership program since inception in 2014.
From August to May, High School Seniors in North Baldwin have the opportunity to participate in a “Leadership Baldwin” styled program, learning about various topics including but not limited to, the chamber, small business, civic responsibility, industry, local government, resume writing, credit building and so much more! Students have the opportunity to interact and connect with community leaders, business professionals and elected officials throughout the program, volunteer at events, attend meetings of their local government, tour and participate in hands-on activities, hear from various speakers on relevant topics, and experience first hand the role of the Chamber of Commerce in a community.

The program is highly competitive, as applicants must submit an essay, letter of recommendation, and complete an interview process before being selected for the program. The program has grown tremendously over the years, from no more than 8 students per class, to 20 for the 2021-2022 class year. There is typically an overwhelming number of applicants each year and weeding through them is one of the most difficult tasks the committee endures, as ALL of the students are great candidates.

After completion of the class year, students are awarded with scholarships provided by generous donations from our Membership, Advantage Partners and the Community, based on merit and participation points received throughout the year. We are thankful for those that believe in the Junior Ambassador program and allow the chamber to continue its efforts in guiding our community’s youth leaders with this information and fun program.
